The international Copper Association Australia is the peak body for the copper industry in Oceania , representing most of the country’s most significant companies in copper mining, manufacturing, and recycling . Its key goals are to build the positive image of copper, to support the industry’s move to zero emission mining by 2050 and to support the new market opportunities for copper Copper will be essential in the emerging energy transition to renewables, electric vehicles , more efficient appliances and transmission and is forecast to be used in future decarbonising technologies which will account for 2/3rds of global GHG emissions abatement by 2050
