Insights into time of energy use
2 July @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm AEST

Buildings account for 50% of electricity use in Australia. Getting buildings to work with the grid is crucial to successful decarbonisation. This session explores how time of use energy management, load shifting and battery strategies can help align building energy demand with a decarbonising, renewable-powered grid. With solar and wind generation peaking during the day but energy demand rising in the evenings, failing to shift demand risks continuing reliance on fossil-fuel power.
Join us to uncover practical insights on supporting grid transition through demand management, and how the building sector can play a pivotal role in accelerating deep decarbonisation. We will unpack our recent leadership challenge Green Star Performance v2: Time of Energy Use which encourages building owners or operators to consider how their building reduces its real-time grid electricity emissions by changing time of energy use through load shifting and grid interaction. It was created in partnership with Buildings Alive, Positive Zero and CSIRO for buildings targeting a Green Star Performance v2 and we will examine what it means for teams and projects and how to perform well in this area. Bring your questions to our experts and take away key strategies.
