Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) is developing Green Star Fitouts, a rating tool to guide applicants in creating sustainable, Green Star-certified fitouts.
The Green Star Fitouts rating tool will supersede the current Green Star – Interiors rating tool.
GBCA is pleased to launch public consultation on the development of draft credits for the Green Star Fitouts rating tool. Comments received in this consultation will be incorporated as we refine the draft into what will be the new Green Star Fitouts rating tool.
This webinar outlines the draft credits proposed for the rating tool and provides an overview of the consultation process.
This webinar is suitable for those looking to get an insight into the proposals that have been published for consultation. Public consultation is one of the most accessible times to engage in the Green Star Fitouts rating tool development process.
The consultation period will run from the 20th November 2024 until the 31st of January 2025. See our website for more information on the consultation.
In this consultation period, GBCA is seeking feedback on:
+ Support for each proposed credit in principle
+ Requirements in each credit performance level
+ Any challenges projects might face achieving requirements because of factors such as the project budget, location (e.g. regional), complexity, or sector
+ What ‘other useful information’ should be provided for each credit performance level to assist understanding and achievement of the credit requirements
+ GBCA notes that some parts of the credits have not been finalised with a detailed proposal. This in intentional and has been clearly marked. Specific questions will be asked about these credits in consultation, and feedback will be used to help inform content.

+ Tenants and fitouts owners
+ Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) consultants
+ Building owners
+ Designers
+ Fitout Contractors
+ Product and material suppliers
GBCA want to hear from those who are familiar with Green Star rating tools, as well as those who are not.
