Positive homes that are net zero in energy

Free

On average, Australian families spend 90% of their time indoors, with two thirds of this at home. So it’s not surprising to hear that 57% of Australia’s built environment emissions come from our homes. If we are serious about limiting global warming to below 1.5 degrees, as committed to in the Paris Agreement, we can’t ignore our homes.

Australian households also pay amongst the highest energy bills in the world. Most households pay between $1,600 to $1,900 on average, per year. The Green Star Homes Standard outlines a path to deliver net zero energy homes. A net zero energy home is one that has been built to generate enough renewable energy to power all estimated regulated loads as well as estimated appliance and plug loads. They do not use gas. When operated well, these homes will not only save money in reduced bills, but will also be built to be net zero in operations.

Please join us for this webinar as we take a deeper look at the Positive category of the Green Star Homes Standard.

You will gain an understanding of the net zero energy requirements of the Green Star Homes Standard and will also hear from industry leaders who have worked extensively in the residential sector to deliver net zero energy homes.
