Waste Stream Management – a joint venture between Perth demolition contractors – began operations in 1997, opening an inert landfill in the industrial area of Kwinana. Consistently maintaining a “best practice” philosophy, Waste Stream Management is an exemplary model and provides a platform for the Department of Environment to showcase inert landfill in WA. Waste Stream Management began recycling concrete in 1999 and in 2003 were successful in producing the first recycled concrete product to be certified for the stringent Main Roads WA specifications. Waste Stream Management continues to operate to the highest standard and currently recycles concrete and masonry for a number of purposes. Waste Stream Management now owns and operates a transfer station in Welshpool WA, continuing to maintain a “best practice” operation with waste sorted, processed and directed to appropriate recycling or landfills as required. Recognising a social responsibility, Waste Stream Management provides extensive scholarships in conjunction with the Shire of Kwinana and Murdoch University. The company takes an active interest in providing opportunity in the local community.
