JR Hammer

JR Hammer is a Melbourne-based industrial recycling company on a mission to keep valuable materials in the economy and out of landfill. Founded on the conviction that waste is unnecessary, unintelligent, unsustainable and uncommercial, JR Hammer recovers and recycles metals and PVC from electrical cables and commercial building waste, returning them to the supply chain as high-value resources.

Operating from a dedicated facility in Thomastown, Victoria, JR Hammer consistently achieves 90%+ resource recovery rates – more than double the industry average. Every tonne processed produces a saleable output, with green certificates issued to clients providing independently held proof of landfill diversion to support their own ESG reporting.

Beyond current operations, JR Hammer is pioneering world-first ionic liquid dissolution technology to solve Australia’s PVC recycling crisis. Backed by a Federal Government CRC-P grant and in partnership with CSIRO and RMIT University, the Round Like a Record program is developing technology to produce near virgin-grade PVC from end-of-life waste streams – with the goal of keeping PVC in the supply chain indefinitely.
