This session will examine the role materials and specifications play in addressing embodied carbon. The panel will cover areas including LCAs and EPDs, looking at how materials can be assessed and specified at the project level.

3.35pm     Case Study: Sydney Fish Markets

BVN’s role in the Sydney Fish Market redevelopment included embedding sustainability into the design, with a focus on reducing embodied carbon through material choices and construction methods. Hear about the use of lower-carbon structural approaches, prefabrication, and strategies to reduce waste and emissions during delivery.

T3 Collingwood is Melbourne’s tallest timber hybrid office building and showcases the innovative use of timber, boasting 15 levels, eight of which feature a cross-laminated timber (CLT) structure.
