Global climate change is affecting all facets of life and many of these impacts are being felt today. Increased frequency and intensity of natural disasters such as bushfire, flooding and extreme heat, detrimentally affect our built environment, including our homes. This in turn impacts our health and wellbeing, and the reliability of infrastructure. These changes challenge the way we build and has broader implications to the community.
At Green Building Council of Australia, our vision is to create healthy, resilient and positive places. This includes our homes. A resilient home is one that has been built to be more robust than required by the minimum building standard and is thus able to better withstand natural disasters and future climate change conditions.
Please join us for this webinar where we take a deep dive into the Resilient category of the Green Star Homes Standard. We will also be joined by an experienced panel with expertise in climate risk and resilience and what this means at an industry, community and home level.
